David Hockney was born July 9, 1937 in Bradford, England. He is a English painter, draughtsman, printmaker, stage designer, and photographer. He contributed to the pop art movement of the 1960s, and is also considered one of the most influential English artist of the 20th century. Hockney works in Kensington, London and two homes in California. His style of photography is taking parts of this whole scene and later put them together later on after they are printed. My photograph emulates his art style because it is more than 6 images put together to make another image.
I started of by opening a new photoshop file. After I opened it, I dragged the photos I took from my desktop onto photoshop. I went to Edit>Transform> Scale+ the alt key to keep proportional. Using this I positioned the images until I got them in the right places. Finally, I merged all the layers and saved it to my desktop and the common drive.

I chose Time Magazine because it is a world famous magazine that everyone knows. To emulate this magazine cover I got a red background and put on the title from the internet and picture from the camera. Font style is times new roman and a red that i got from the internet. A strobe light is a light that flashes when the camera takes the picture. The modeling light is a harsh light that has a light diffuser to make the light more even. Soft box is the diffuser that is on the light to even it out. The reflector reflects light it is to lighten up the side of the photo that doesn't have light. A grey card is a card that helps determine the exposure of the photograph. A photo trigger transmit a signal to the strobe light when to flash.
“Brian’s Glamor Shot”
This Photography was taken at The Duck Pond by my school. We were taking photographs for a portrait project in my Photography class. I saw that the light was reflecting just right to get very good back lighting so we set up the gold reflector and took some pictures. The composition rule for this photo is symmetry. I used the Nikon D5300 with a 18-140mm lens to take the photo. I used Photoshop to bring up the brightness, contrast, and color balance. The image is a portrait because it is of a good friend Brian. It was Printed on Epson Glossy Photo Paper on the Epson P800 digital printer. |
